Windy Walk

No church. We may be done with the Methodists. Just not feeling it. At least I'm not. Looked up the Anabaptists in Manchester and they meet once a month on a Monday night. That's not going to work. May try the pagans.

After a clean of the house in the am, we went to the Peak District for a walk. We had a nice one along a creek and then a steep climb up to a nub. There were many bridges at which the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff was re-enacted. The wooded walk was in a valley and was very sheltered, but the nub was fully exposed - it was super windy. The moors are really cool. Desolate. Seemingly lifeless, but every once in a while one will see some type of moorhen or grouse or something. The trailhead had a couple of chickens running around, but none on the moors.

After the walk we headed to Glossop to the Globe pub. It's a microbrewery with a wonderful atmosphere and vegan fare. The food is great and cheap. Even after a couple of drinks we got out of there for 20 pounds. Amazing! Back home. Wind blown and tired. Winding down.

Lots of conversation about royals, Pipa, Charles, Diana and some of the silliness associated with the whole thing the day before yesterday.

Xyla at right is reading the latest about Pipa, "Her Royal Hottie" and Harry. She is displaying the girls' latest approach to driving comfort - undies only.
